During it, a man will be a mu’min in the morning and become a kafir (converted) by the evening, and no one will be saved from it except one who supplicates like a person drowning in the ocean would supplicate (he has nothing left and there is nothing between him and death). It will last for twelve years (the core evil, around the time America pulled out of Afghanistan), then it will end when it ends (in another hadith by 18 years, the end of 2020), (within a decade afterwards) and the Euphrates will have uncovered a mountain of gold (because it has dried up). They will fight over it until seven out of every nine are killed.”

A flood is about to be released upon the people of ash-Sham that will split their unity, so that even if foxes attacked them they would defeat them. At that time, a man from my household will come out with three banners. The one who estimates highly will say: They are fifteen thousand. And the one who estimates lower will say: They are twelve thousand. Their sign (slogan) will be: “ Amit, amit [kill,kill, to the death, to the death].” (At the end of the war) They will meet in battle seven banners, and under each of those banners shall be a man seeking the kingdom (of Syria). Allah will kill all of them, and restore to the Muslims their unity and bounty, and their far ones and near ones.”
